 | Phil is married to Linda and they have an eight year old daughter Sara. He is employed as an operating engineer, and his hobby is dogs. He has always had dogs. He began mushing in earnest in 1990, and currently has a 40 dog kennel. His team of Siberian Huskies range in age from 2 1/2 - 5. They run for fun, are attentive, and have good personalities. His lead dog Velma is completely devoted to Phil. She lives in his house, and loves to race. When talking with Phil, it is obvious he is devoted to Velma as well. His co-leader is Squirrel. His future plans include trying stage racing. We do not know who will be handling for Phil this year since last year's hanlder Tabitha Pranke will be running a team herself. When asked about sponsors, Phil told us they are his mom and dad (since he was born, he adds).
