Dan withdrew from the race on Thu Feb 9, 2006 Reason: Unknown
Last time Dan ran the UP200 was in 2000 and he placed fourth. Dan lives and trains in Hoback, Wyoming. He is a seasoned musher who trains and works with former U.P. 200 champion Frank Teasley. The drive from Wyoming is 25 hours with frequent stops for the dogs. This is an indication of the commitment these dedicated mushers have. At other times Dan has run the “B” team for Frank to keep these young dogs happy and give them a positive experience in sled dog racing. Teasley's dogs are always in extremely good shape, so both Dan and Frank will be mushers to watch in the 2006 U.P. 200.
UPSDA MISSION: To promote the sled dog sport, educate the public about sled dog activities, and sponsor a continuous, mid-distance sled dog race in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
